Today is the 25th anniversary of McQueen's death and this year it would be his 75th birthday.

Adams met McQueen when she was a star of the Broadway hit "The Pajama Game." McQueen was a struggling actor learning his craft at the famed Actors Studio, where his heroes, James Dean and Marlon Brando, developed the gritty, realistic form of acting that led to the popularity of the "anti-hero."
