Covering the Mouse

This is a fantastic audio blog!

Covering the Mouse devoted to covers of Disney songs:

E.g. I listened to Usher's rendition of a "Tarzan" tune, Jimmy Cliff's take on "The Lion King" (see below), The Supremes revisiting "Pinocchio", and Bobby McFerrin's version of that magical "Cinderella" melody " Bibbidi-Bobbidi-Boo" ... all are so great!

Put it together and what have you got? Bibbidi-bobbidi-wonderful!!!

Tim McKenna Photography & Teahupo'o

Waves ... and waves ... and more waves ... especially Teahupo'o!

image

Surfing is probably one of the purest sports in terms of harmony with nature. This interaction with the ever-changing natural elements also makes it one of the most photogenic activities of all. The aesthetic aspect of surfing has inspired many photographers and artists during the last century. Since the1980s, some photographers have thus specialized in surf photography, catering for the increasing demands of specialized publications, sponsors, photo agencies and other media.

The unique quality of surf photography lies in the wide array of possible angles and the variety of equipment used.

Bullfrog Ballet

Uploader Jeff from the Vancouver Aquarium notes:

Frogs Forever? ... only if we leap in to save them. There's a global crisis facing amphibians -- frogs, toads and salamanders -- they're vanishing before our very eyes.

We're losing them to habitat destruction, pollution that includes household chemicals and pesticides, climate change, and over-harvesting for food, but the most deadly cause is a disease called the chytrid fungus.

It's a crisis that has sparked the Vancouver Aquarium to take action.

"Frogs Forever?" a new exhibit at the Aquarium trains the spotlight on the plight of the world's frogs, with tips on how we can help save them.

It's part of the global initiative to save frogs launched by Amphibian Ark (a coalition of research and conservation groups that include zoo and aquariums), which has declared 2008 The Year of the Frog.
