Are you doing online Christmas Shopping trying to find some perfect gifts?
Have a look at this little site, they sell Flameless candles and they have everything from Flameless Window Candles to Flameless Christmas Candles.

Flameless Candles are fire safe battery powered wax candles made from real wax. An ingenious new technology allows flickering light to glow from within creating the appearance of a warmly glowing candle.

Cool - no candle replacements for burnt out candles, plus the bonus of being a lot more safer to keep in the home than an open flame all the time.

Twinkle Twinkle

Adorable!

Created by MudBubble Animation:

“Bup-bup-bup the world so high…”, introducing Andrea Rose Georgenes, aspiring actress and all around entertainer. This animation started out as a spontaneous audio recording when Andrea was just 2 years old. Eventually the concept was written and the animation followed. It was originally a holiday greeting for clients, friends and family.

Don't miss and check out the follow-up clip of Andrea Rose making her wish list. If you are curious to see what she looks like in real life, click here.

Zattoo - TV to Go

I've just been Zattood, meaning that I can now watch real time local TV on my computer. So now I have BBC World and CNN and Swiss television and other channels from various European countries, actually 58 stations ... right now I'm watching Sharon Stone at Larry King live ...

Swiss technology started up Zattoo a year ago with 5 downloadable channels. To date, more than 350'000 1.3 million Internet users have downloaded Zattoo and a lot television channels are available for live viewing, from Switzerland, Denmark, Germany, Spain, the UK and more.

It works via peer-to-peer technology, indicating the appropriate selection of television channels based on the country you live in, something that no Internet TV app has done successfully to date. After registering for a Zattoo account online and installing the client (really, that's not an issue and all is free), you'll get an overview of the available TV stations in your locality.

From the publisher of Zattoo: "Zattoo is live TV on your PC - it's the football game as you chat, the news as you email, and Lost as you pay your bills. Zattoo is also TV when you don't have a TV - it's the channels you want, when you want, where you want."

Here you find the List of channels on Zattoo.

See also their Zattoo Blog.

How Walt Disney Cartoons are made

This is really entertaining, and even a bit educational - an 8 minutes documentary, show you how Walt Disney cartoons are made. The film also has some rare glimpses of the animation process back in the 1930's in action and a view of Snow White's test run in the movieola projector. Enjoy!

Lingro

A superb tool: Lingro takes any webpage and allows you to click on any word in that page to get its translation back into English, Spanish, French, Polish, German or Italian.

The interactive interface allows you some real flexibility:

  • Switch between languages in a click
  • Listen to the pronunciation of every word
  • Multiple definitions and examples
  • It keeps a record of all the words you've had to look up in your wordlist, so you can go off and learn them yourself

Camille Seaman Photography - The Last Iceberg

image

The Last Iceberg is one piece of a larger project entitled "Melting Away" which documents the polar regions of our planet, their environments, life forms, history of human exploration and the communities that work and live there.

Nick Cave once sang, "All things move toward their end." Icebergs give the impression of doing just that, in their individual way much as humans do; they have been created of unique conditions and shaped by their environments to live a brief life in a manner solely their own. Some go the distance traveling for many years slowly being eroded by time and the elements; others get snagged on the rocks and are whittled away by persistent currents. Still others dramatically collapse in fits of passion and fury.

The Last Iceberg chronicles just a handful of the many thousands of icebergs that are currently headed to their end. I approach the images of icebergs as portraits of individuals, much like family photos of my ancestors. I seek a moment in their life in which they convey their unique personality, some connection to our own experience and a glimpse of their soul which endures.

These images were made in both the Arctic regions of Svalbard, Greenland, and Antarctica.
