Imprisoned Parrots

Thats so wonderful.
And so sad.

A short clip to raise awareness of the abuse and neglect of parrots. The soundtrack is a Chinese song by Peng Ling, named 'Imprisoned Bird'. It fits the contexts here very well,

With English subtitles.

Cassini Imaging Diary

image

Full Size 4152x2928: JPEG 1.9 MB

Surely one of the most gorgeous sights the Solar System has to offer, Saturn sits enveloped by the full splendor of its stately rings.
Taking in the rings in their entirety was the focus of this particular imaging sequence. Therefore, the camera exposure times were just right to capture the dark-side of its rings but longer than that required to properly expose the globe of sunlit Saturn. Consequently, the sunlit half of the planet is overexposed.

So, take your seats, sit back, relax, and enjoy the show.
And don't miss the Theatre.

Alex Ross Art

image

Alex Ross is an American comic book painter, acclaimed for the photorealism of his work. Ross is known for his love of the vintage looks of classic characters and the more mythic elements of the superheroes.

Forty years ago, Spider-Man learned that with great power comes great responsibility. Looking at Alex Ross, it’s obvious the lesson took. Ross’ career offers another important message: follow your dream. Actually, it’s not far from the sort of message you might find in one of his stories.

Well, that's a little bizarre and fascinating at once.

The film solely consists of photos of human body parts, which are arranged to form landscapes, animals, plants,...

Solar Tower Project

SolarMission Technologies produced this 5 minute video on the pilot plant in Spain. It is an older video (2000), the designs have changed and technologies added, but gives a decent understanding of the solar tower concept.

Don't miss the second clip by EnviroMission Limited, one of the world's leading producers of clean renewable energy.

EnviroMission holds the proprietary rights to Solar Tower technology, a large-scale renewable energy technology based on simple fundamentals of physics -- hot air rises. Solar Tower technology has the potential to offer competitive renewable energy with equal reliability to fossil fuel generators.
