Oceangram is the internet version of sending a message in a bottle, you write the message, seal it in a bottle, and send it off into the ocean. Someone from around the world may pick it up from the ocean and read it.

Amazing Spray Paint Artist

Wayne Gabaylo is an amazing spray paint artist located in Honolulu Hawaii in Kings Village.

This is Art In Motion!

image

In 1990, he began experimenting in his dad?s garage and invented a unique way to paint using cans of spray paint. Using objects he found in his mom?s kitchen, the self-taught artist soon began combining them all together, (juggling and dancing) to the best of music! He calls his show ?Art-In-Motion,? and for the past several years has been performing and entertaining art lovers in Waikiki.

Mon Sudoku

I am indeed not a big fan of sudoku games but this one is nice made (cute little monster icons) and easy to handle!

The rules are the same: a monster should appear only once on each row, column and region.

The Golden Age of Travel Posters

image

The 1920's and 1930's ushered in an unprecedented era of travel to exotic and romantic destinations. And nowhere was this more clearly expressed than in the travel posters of that time. The Los Angeles Public Library's collection of travel posters perfectly captures this era. With this exhibition, the Library shares its bounty with the public for the first time.

Among the highlights are two posters issued for the 1936 Munich Olympics; steamship posters for the NYK Lines, the Orient Lines, and the Grace Lines; and outstanding airline posters for Air France and Pan American. Most of the posters share an Art Deco sensibility; however, there are two wonderful examples of Futurist design. All the posters capture the essence of this era in a way that no other medium can.

In the Footsteps of Vincent van Gogh

This documentary traces the events of van Gogh?s final years and reveals his turbulent spirit. It is ablaze with the canvases he painted between 1888 and 1890 and draws on his prolific correspondence with his brother, Theo. In a vivid combination of Vincent?s words and images, and with stunning location footage, it brings to life his time in Arles; the period he spent in the asylum at Saint-Remy de Province; and his last weeks in Aucers-sur-Oise.

After watching this documentary you have a better understanding of the artist's feelings when he painted.

This streaming video takes 55 minutes.

Enjoy your sunday!

Boléro Animated

One of my favorite classical pieces in an interesting animated format:
Boléro by Maurice Ravel

You know, this piece has a slow, quiet beginning and builds up to a loud, spectacular climax, so turn up your sound.

Mouse About The House

Mouse About The House features Tom & Jerry, with you controlling Jerry in his voyage accross the garden and through the house to get to the fridge full of cheese. Help him navigate the obstacles, and avoid Tom, using the items at your disposal in the right order. Cute, but not at all difficult.

Masterpieces of the Persian Painting

image

A collection of these masterpieces and dozens of pieces of Persian Paintings dating back to Timurid and Safavid eras?a collection that manifests exalted concepts and mysteries of the realities about mankind?is now being showcased at TMCA after a long period of oblivion.

What can be learned from the timless and unbound-in-space Persian Paintings is the way to express abstract and exalted concepts in terms of the familiar pictorial elements. Refined forms and colors, the elixir of texture and magic combination of basic elements seen from the front (instead of in perspective) create a single flat image of the great heritage of the Persian Painting.

Zaky Infant Pillow

You know the drill. You?re putting your little one in his crib. He?s asleep ? or ALMOST asleep ? and you?re gently stroking his stomach or patting his bottom.

You slowly stroke his tummy with your hand and rest your hand gently on his body until you feel the gentle breathing of him sleeping? Then?you move your hand ever so slightly, trying to move as slowly as possible so that you don?t wake your sleeping angel, and suddenly ? no matter how slowly or carefully you move -- wail!!! He wakes up?

image

If you?ve ever wished for a ?hand? to leave behind so that your baby would feel as if you?ve never left the room, your prayers have been answered with the Zaky.

Zaky Infant Pillow - I'm not sure whether this helps ...
