The Art of Philip Straub
Philip's luminous and meticulously detailed digital and traditional oil paintings have classical influences but are purely based on the fantastic. Many images are derived from the ever present surreal worlds that play out in his mind like lucid dreams throughout the day. His visions are inhabited by unique characters and filled with imaginative architecture and lush vegetation that seems to come to life, bursting with vibrant colors and dramatic lighting.

Old Tokyo - Vintage Images of Japan
Tokyo today bears little resemblance to the city it was 100 years ago. That should not be unexpected. As with other great cities of the world -- London, New York, Moscow, Shanghai -- the Japanese capital has never been a city entirely held captive by time. But, perhaps, no other city has undergone as many levels of change, and as often, as has Tokyo. It has risen, Phoenix-like, from fires, earthquakes and war; each catastrophe giving city administrators, urban engineers and learned architects opportunities to transform, redesign and re-imagine what has been for centuries among the world's most populous cities.
