A guide to global catastrophes

Is it possible for a natural disaster to terrorise the whole planet? Is the destructive force of a mega-tsunami or a cataclysmic earthquake enough to rock the world? And what would happen if a giant asteroid hit Earth?

Geohazards expert Bill McGuire (author of A guide to the end of the world and Surviving Armageddon) explores why he believes past global catastrophes point to a disastrous future. Natural events on an unprecedented scale could bring humanity to its knees, so what is being done to help us survive Armageddon?

Sports Photography

image

For the last twenty or so years I have been a photographer specialising in action photography based in the United Kingdom. I have photographed every major sporting event from summer & winter Olympics to elephant polo and horse racing on ice.

Through my work I have travelled to most corners of the world and been published in many high quality publications including Sports Illustrated, Time, Newsweek, Life, Stern, Paris Match, Bunte, L'Equipe, The Sunday Times, New York Times to mention a few. I am proud to be the only Sports Illustrated Staff Photographer to be based outside of the USA.

Knife Throw

You can see, she's been tied to a rotating wheel, which also has 4 target spots placed in strategic areas about her. Your objective here is to hit these targets on the wheel before you run out of knives. Closer you hit Knancy (but not her) more points you will get. Take care not to hit Knancy. She's a real whiner and will surely let you know if your aim is off.
