Sculpting Geometry
![]() | I'm an artist exploring the region between art and mathematics, and this is my gallery and storefront. My work is about life in three dimensions: working with symmetry and balance, getting from a zero point to infinity, and always finding beauty in geometry. |
Making Over Mona
| Mona Lisa is a classic vision of beauty and sensuality, but let's face it, after 500 years, who couldn't use a little "restoration"? Some Botox here, some collagen there, and she'll be looking centuries younger in no time ... Making Over Mona |

Languages of the World
| An encyclopedic reference work cataloging all of the world?s 6,912 known living languages. Due to the nature of language and the various perspectives brought to its study, it is not surprising that a number of issues prove controversial. Of preeminence in this regard is that of the definition of language itself. Since languages do not have self-identifying features, what actually constitutes a language must be operationally defined. That is, the definition of language one chooses depends on the purpose one has in identifying a language. Some base their definition on purely linguistic grounds. Others recognize that social, cultural, or political factors must also be taken into account. Ethnologue: Languages of the World. Als Beispiel Schwyzerdütsch. |

The Art of Philip Straub
![]() | Philip's luminous and meticulously detailed digital and traditional oil paintings have classical influences but are purely based on the fantastic. Many images are derived from the ever present surreal worlds that play out in his mind like lucid dreams throughout the day. His visions are inhabited by unique characters and filled with imaginative architecture and lush vegetation that seems to come to life, bursting with vibrant colors and dramatic lighting. Philip focuses on invoking an emotional response from his images through composition, color, light and subject matter. |
