Die Kugel immer weiter nach oben befördern. Mit den Pfeiltasten rechts und links die Kugel steuern - nicht nur auf dem Gummiseil, auch in der Luft. Sterne bringen Extrapunkte.

Causes of Color

Why is the sky blue? Why is fire yellow? What about flamingos or emeralds?

Scholars have learned that all the colors in the universe originate from a mere fifteen fundamental physical causes. These causes appear over and over, lending color to the world around us. Some common causes seem logical -- for example, both light bulbs and candles are colored by incandescence -- and others are surprising -- did you know that the colors of peacock feathers and bubbles are both caused by interference?

This exhibit is beautiful and instructively!

ACLU Pizza: Take Action

The government and corporations are aggressively collecting information about your personal life and your habits. They want to track your purchases, your medical records, and even your relationships. The Bush Administration's policies, coupled with invasive new technologies, could eliminate your right to privacy completely.

Robin Urton's Eyecon Art Gallery

image

I think of creating art as a "dreaming meditation", as I follow where my subconscious stirrings lead me. During my teens, I began to have an intense interest in my dreams. The lyrical symbolism of dreams intrigued me, which led me to study the philosophical implications of Jungian philosophy, lucid dreaming, and metaphysical explorations. Keeping a journal led to painting illustrations of dream content. Eventually, this evolved into dreaming as I painted. My interests in archetypal psychology, spirituality, metaphysics, the natural sciences, and art history are also apparent in my works.

Trees for Life

image

"It is not so much for its beauty that the forest makes a claim upon men's hearts, as for that subtle something, that quality of air, that emanation from the old trees that so wonderfully changes and renews the spirit."
Robert Louis Stevenson

Rapunzels Escape

You must help Rapunzel escape the tower. Your only weapon is your hair which you flick around by changing direction quickly.

Catching the Light

One of the most spectacular sights in all of nature is the corona during a total solar eclipse.
image

The corona is the sun's atmosphere. It actually extends far out into the solar system, well past the Earth. It has an extremely wide brightness range of more than 10,000 to 1, and although the human eye has the ability to accommodate it and see detail in the brightest portions near the lunar limb as well as the faintest parts in the outer sections, normal photographic film is not able to record such a great range of contrast.

If a high contrast film is used to record fine structure, it can only do so in a narrow range of the corona.

Fiat Lux

Nicht mehr ganz neu - aber immer noch ein Augenschmaus:

Fiat Lux - directed by Paul Debevec.

Debevec is the leading researcher on techniques for capturing real-world illumination and illuminating synthetic objects with real light, facilitating the realistic integration of real and computer generated imagery. His 1999 film Fiat Lux placed towering monoliths and gleaming spheres into a photorealistic reconstruction of St. Peter?s Basilica, all illuminated by the light that was actually there.

Steve Sage's Nature Photography

image

As a way of learning to "see the light" and to experience the splendors of the natural world I have found no better way to do this than photography.

Many people hunt, fish, boat or engage in all kinds of outdoor activities. Photography can cross over all of these kind of activities and give the intended viewer the insight of the photographer's perspective and creativity.
